Established in 1966, Cumberland Heights is a non-profit organization committed to supporting individuals and families affected by addiction. Known for its comprehensive treatment programs that blend time-honored traditions with modern innovations.
Alec McDougall, CEO of John W. McDougall Co., has served on the Cumberland Heights Board of Directors for over a decade, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the organization’s mission: “To transform lives, giving hope and healing to those affected by alcohol and drug addiction.” This partnership was highlighted by the success of the Second Annual ‘2024 Swing to Save Golf Tournament,’ which raised essential funds to support Cumberland Heights’ transformative programs and services.
This year’s golf tournament saw incredible support from a wide range of sponsors, including well-respected companies such as Construction Specialties Inc., Strongwell, Equipment Finders Inc., Alfrex Inc., and Dodd Electric Inc. Highlights of the event featured a lively putting contest with donated prizes and the much discussed “Heckle Hole,” which kept participants on their toes and added a fun challenge to the event.
Naturally, no tournament is complete without awards, so we at John W. McDougall did what we do best—crafted custom stainless-steel trophies for the top-performing teams. Participants also received unique keepsakes in the form of JWM-branded divot tools, ensuring the memories of the event endure long after the final round.
With 29 teams and over 30 companies involved, the tournament brought together around 140 participants, including volunteers, players, and sponsors. The community’s efforts paid off, with the event raising approximately $36,000—exceeding last year’s total and providing crucial funds to support the life-changing work of Cumberland Heights.
We are already looking forward to next year’s event and the opportunity to make an even greater impact.
